below the surface.

Excavation, digger and dumper work, drainage and ground preparation are a substantial part of what we do. The photographs show the trenches, pipework, levels and access needed before later stages can begin.

Driveways and paving

A considered approach
to every entrance.

Block paving, curved stone details and gravel approaches from a selection of AKS projects. Each surface needs careful preparation, suitable levels and well defined edges.

Notice the paving patterns, the changes in direction and the way the borders meet walls, paths and planted areas. These details make the entrance practical as well as attractive.

From garden terraces to the paths that connect them, these projects show slab paving, stone surfaces and the details around beds, boundaries and doorways. Straight joints, carefully cut edges and sensible changes in level help the space feel complete.

Retaining walls and steps

Making changes in level
work for the garden.

Timber sleepers, stonework and brick or block walls create boundaries, support raised beds and define usable areas. Steps and adjoining paving bring the different levels together.
