This notice explains how AKS Groundwork Limited uses personal information when you visit our website, contact us or ask about a project.
AKS Groundwork Limited is the controller of the personal information described here. Our company number is 13926020. Our registered office is 4 Ardington Courtyard, Roke Lane, Witley, Godalming, Surrey, GU8 5NF, United Kingdom.
For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, email info@aksgroundworks.co.uk, call 07478 081969 or write to our registered office.
Our enquiry form collects your name, phone number, email address, project postcode, the service you need and your project description. A preferred start date is optional. We also receive information you choose to share by phone or email, including photographs, drawings, site details and correspondence.
Our website and hosting systems may record technical information such as IP addresses, browser details, request times and errors to operate and protect the service. Please only send information relevant to your project and avoid including sensitive personal information or details about other people without permission.
Submitting an enquiry does not subscribe you to marketing. We do not use enquiry details for advertising mailing lists or sell your personal information. We do not make decisions about your enquiry solely through automated processing.
Enquiries are delivered to our business email and stored in our website administration system. Access is limited to people who need the information to handle your enquiry or project.
Our website, hosting, email and IT providers may process information to provide their services. Where needed for your project, we may share relevant details with people working on the project, suppliers or professional advisers. We may also disclose information where the law requires it. We only share information relevant to the purpose.
If a service requires personal information to be transferred outside the UK, we will use an applicable adequacy arrangement or other safeguards required by UK data protection law. Contact us if you would like details about the providers or safeguards relevant to your information.
We use Cloudflare Turnstile to help prevent automated spam and abuse of our contact form. Cloudflare processes technical signals such as your IP address, browser information and the website being visited to distinguish people from bots and improve its bot detection. Our server sends Cloudflare a verification token to check the result, without including your name, contact details or project message. For more information, read the Cloudflare Turnstile Privacy Addendum. If you cannot complete the security check, you can contact us by phone or email.
We keep closed enquiries that do not become an order for no more than 12 months after the enquiry is closed, then delete them from our enquiry records and business correspondence. If an enquiry becomes a project, relevant information becomes part of the project records.
Project, accounting and legal records are kept for the period needed to complete the work, meet statutory record keeping obligations and deal with relevant claims. A particular record may need to be retained longer if there is an active dispute or a legal requirement. Backup copies follow the backup retention cycle and are not used for routine business purposes.
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access, correct or erase your personal information, restrict its use, receive a portable copy, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. These rights have legal exceptions. Contact us using the details above and we will respond in accordance with the applicable time limits. We may need to confirm your identity before releasing information.
You can raise a concern with us at any time. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK data protection regulator.
This website does not currently use advertising or analytics cookies. Project videos, photographs and fonts are served from our website. Social media buttons are links to external services; those services apply their own privacy notices when you visit them.
The optional logo intro uses session storage named aks-brand-intro-v1 to avoid repeating the animation as you move between pages in the same tab. This is an appearance preference and does not identify or track you. The value normally disappears when the tab session ends.
You can disable the intro and its playback memory for this tab below. We then store aks-intro-disabled only to remember that choice for the tab session. Browser settings can also block or clear website storage.
Authorised staff who sign in to WordPress use additional essential login, security and administration preference cookies. These are not needed to browse the public pages or send an enquiry.
We will update this notice if our practices change. The date above shows the latest revision. Any future marketing or optional tracking would require a separate assessment and appropriate choices before being introduced.
